Currently I am working on my self portrait...then I'll be ready. While some have been more challenging than others, each work has been a delight to create. I plan on delivering a festive experience on opening night, as my characters 'walk' the 'red carpet' for their audience…

Gitana Rosa Gallery
Presents: HUNG
Checking Out the Contemporary Male
Opening Reception: Friday, September 17, 7-10PM
September 17 -- October 16, 2010
To kick off the fall season, Williamsburg's Gitana Rosa Gallery, refracts the male gaze.
Hung, a multimedia exhibition, hones in on the male nude. A heroic figure in Greek, Roman and Renaissance art, the male nude proves more fascinating than ever. Whether it is relegated to obscurity or exalted past recognition, men's bodies continue to challenge both men's and women's perceptions.
Love them or hate them, Hung's male nudes tease the line between the sensuous and the glaringly obvious to present a nuanced portrait of the contemporary male…

I now have my youngest and first married daughter's wedding done. We had a fabulous time, an all the decorations and flowers were my creations of love for her. Now I am back to painting and working at my other job in a factory so that I have my health insurance, this is not exactly what I want to be doing but for now a necessary thing.
I recently attended the Southwest Iowa Relay for Life, celebrating the victory over Cancer and honoring those who have lost the fight. Being a 12 year cancer survivor and a never give up fighter, it was an emotional night for all of us, if you ever get the chance do go and support those of us who fight on every day. When I was diagnosed with advanced cervical cancer, I knew I was not ever going to give up…

this weekend we will be in des moines, ia...at the state fairgrounds for the "other" art festival. its a big weekend in des moines as the downtown art fest is going on as well. there is a shuttle bus that runs back and forth between the shows so we hope folks will take advantage of that and visit both of these fine art fairs.
the nice thing about our show is that it is held indoors. and on a weekend when the temps will be in the 90's and humid...it will feel pretty comfortable inside our air conditioned exhibition hall.
I've attached another new painting that peggy has finished up this week and we will have it on disply in des moines this weekend.
thats all for now...we hope to see you in iowa this weekend.
thanks for reading…
